Snowy Fall Engagement Session // Aneta + Mirza
Meet Aneta and Mirza. They are each other’s true best friends that love to travel, watch their favorite TV show, and just spend time together. They got engaged during a weekend getaway in Chicago at the gorgeous Buckingham Fountain and have the sweetest story behind their proposal.
Aneta and Mirza have been together since 2013 after a spontaneous trip to Walmart one Friday night at midnight. Mirza told Aneta that them walking into Walmart together makes them boyfriend and girlfriend now. How cute? They became closer as the years went by and for the past 5 years now, they've kept a tradition to plan a weekend getaway to Chicago each year. Their previous trip to Chicago was a very special one.
On September 1, 2018, Mirza and Aneta were enjoying Chicago with 2 of their closest friends who had joined them on their trip. Everyone but Aneta knew what was going to happen around sunset hour. They all walked to the Buckingham Fountain because Aneta has never seen it even after visiting Chicago for the past few years. Aneta thought she was just going to see the pretty fountain, take a few photos, and continue exploring Chicago, but Mirza had something else planned the entire time. As they arrived to the Buckingham Fountain to enjoy the stunning sunset behind it and take some photos, two young ladies approached them holding over 20 balloons and asked them if they wanted to purchase one. Aneta was not for it at all and told the girls no because she didn’t want to walk around the city with a balloon, but the girls insisted and told her the ballon costs only $1. So, Aneta gave in and told them she’ll take one. Little did she know that the balloon she agreed to get had “Will You Marry Me?” written on it. As she received the balloon, she turned to Mirza to tell him how cute it was that the balloon had “Will You Marry Me” written on it, when he was already down on one knee waiting for her to turn around. This was the moment Mirza proposed to Aneta as the beautiful sunset and Buckingham Fountain was behind them and their 2 closest friends besides them. What a sweet and special way to propose to the love of your life!
Aneta reached out to me soon after their engagement to have their engagement photos taken, and I was so happy and honored to capture their love story! They were so sweet, fun to be around, and we laughed throughout their session which allowed me to capture some great candid moments between them. We shot their session at Forest Park and Tower Grove Park in late November, which gave us the perfect snowy fall engagement session!
